crafts and cooking.

school starts next week and i want to make sure we finish up the summer with some fun things :)

sunday i used the last of the eggs for egg salad with aidan, so we decided to make caterpillars out of the crates. after they colored them, i put on eyes and used pipe cleaners for antennae. :)








yesterday we made chocolate and PB rice krispie treats.
i buttered a baking dish.


then in a pot, melted

1/2 stick butter
5 cups mini marshmallows
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter


then add 6 cups of rice krispies.

mix it all up. then put half in your dish. cover with melted chocolate chips. then the other half. then more chocolate chips! hurray!


its so rich i can only have a tiny piece at a time. LOL

we also made pulled chicken sandwiches for dinner. which were delish. i dont have pics of that, but here's what i did.

in a crockpot, i put:
2 defrosted chicken breasts (i could have put more, but i knew the kids would likely not eat this for dinner)
16oz (2 little cans) of tomato sauce
1/4 c. cider vinegar (to be fair, i think it used white wine vinegar? heck i dunno)
2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. dry mustard
sprinkled some cayenne and garlic powder over it

cooked for like 4hrs? then shredded it up and let it sit on "warm" for another hour or so.

put on a bun with BBQ sauce and pickles :) delish.

today we made blueberry muffins for breakfast.








reese was silly while she ate some cereal!


(sidenote: im trying NOT to use my SL indoors, but my kitchen srsly does suck. the grain in these is making my head spin. i just need my SL lol)

today aidan got her FIRST haircut!!! we were going to do her nails at the same time, but we ended up doing them afterward somewhere else.

we went to http://www.troyrichardsalon.com/ and they did a fabulous job :)
