so i finally did it.
i bought the canon 35mm f/1.4L
i love it. its so crisp and sharp. i had to micro-calibrate it to my 7d by +15 and now its so on spot.
i didnt have much chance yesterday to use it to its potential (bc, to be honest, its for my newborn shoots, mainly :) and while it will be perfect for places my 85mm cant fit, my newborns should be so awesome with this piece of glass. hopefully lol)
but i did shoot some candids and snapshots of the kids. to see how in, totally normal conditions if it differs that much from the sigma 30mm 1.4 i had (and sold. yippee!!)
all of these in the gameroom are basically straight out of the camera. being shot in RAW, i fixed the white balance but thats it.
look at those eyes.
lmao sawyer's like "uh give that back"
rockstar.
then i played with reese in the kitchen ;)
outside. these are more edited.
i focused on the left eye. you can see if you make it bigger.
and obvs edited lol and this is SUPER close to her face. hence the distortion-ish.
anyway, i love it. maybe i can try something better today. :)

Great shots! But, regardless of the lens, your shots are always great and spot on. I will admit, though, it's super fun and crazy exciting to get new toys. Congrats on the new addition!
ReplyDeletethank you so much andie <3
ReplyDeleteI bet you are SUPER excited! It's always fun to get a new lens. I bet you'll love using this one w/ your newborns. I'm a Nikon girl, but my 35 is what primarily stays on my camera. It's so good for capturing our everyday indoors. I'm glad you mentioned about micro calibrating. I need to quit being lazy and figure out how to do that for my lenses!
